Striving to Remain COVID-19-Free

Dear Family Member/Resident/Designated Representative,

I am very pleased to report that as a result of our staff’s considerable diligence and adherence to proper infection control techniques, there continues to be no confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 among our resident population! We are one of a very few facilities statewide that can make such a claim and it is something in which we are extremely proud.

As you may be aware, CMS has required nursing facilities to begin ongoing testing of all employees two times per week in an effort to identify positive cases and prevent them from infecting our vulnerable resident population. Additionally, upon learning of positive cases among residents and/or staff, we are required to notify the residents and families by 5pm the following day. To that end, we are informing you that we began an aggressive testing program this week which has resulted in several employees testing positive for the virus.

All of the employees identified as positive are asymptomatic and have always worn proper personal protective equipment while in the building. They were immediately removed from the schedule upon learning of the positive test result. Further, they must remain out of the building for minimally 14 days. They must be symptom free at the end of the 14 day period and test negative for COVID-19 before they will be permitted to return to work.

We remain committed to ensuring the best possible care for your loved one and are confident we can continue to be successful mitigating this risk.

COVID-19-Free

Again, we thank you for your cooperation and understanding throughout this extremely trying time.
