Celebrating Earth Day at San Simeon by the Sound

April 22nd is Earth Day and nearly 200 countries around the globe take part in this positive event. At San Simeon by the Sound, we provide our residents with unique, fulfilling ways to celebrate this holiday.

A Brief History of Earth Day

Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22nd, 1970; and around 20 million Americans took part in peaceful demonstrations. The goal of these demonstrations was to raise environmental awareness and to spur legislation for positive environmental reforms. Over the years, Earth Day has grown into an international event and has led to many positive reforms for a cleaner, more sustainable earth.

Gardening for Good

At San Simeon by the Sound, one of the amenities offered to our residents is an outdoor serenity garden and patio; this is where our residents can plant and care for flowers and other flora. Caring for plants has proven therapeutic benefits and reduces your carbon footprint.

On this Earth Day, plant something in your own garden, or schedule a visit to San Simeon and see all of the beautiful plants our residents have grown.
