Updated COVID-19 Visitation Guidelines

Dear residents and family members,

The Governor and NYS DOH have issued new regulations related to allowing visitors in the building. While much is the same as we had done in the past, there are some new components.

Specifically, we have expanded visitation to include times on Sundays.

Also, the maximum number of visitors allowed in the building per day is now twice what was previously allowed.

Visitation still requires the facility staff and residents be COVID free for 14 days. Once that requirement is met, based on the county positivity rates, visitation can resume as follows:

Green Zone: Visitation with normal infection control procedures
Yellow Zone: Visitation allowed; visitors must provide proof of negative COVID test within 72 hours of visit. (We can provide the rapid test. Please see our Visitation Procedure
for instructions how)
Red Zone: No visitation allowed with the exception of discretionary compassionate care cases

While face coverings are still required, it appears physical contact (hugs, holding hands, etc.) are allowed.

To limit unnecessary exposure on the units, we will continue allowing indoor visits only in the daycare center. Visitors must remain in the visitation area throughout the duration of their visit.

Please refer to the San Simeon website for the most up to date information related to our ongoing battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as view updated versions of our Visitation Procedure document and Visitation Guidelines document.

If any questions or concerns please feel free to contact the facility directly.

Warm regards,

Steve Smyth
