One of the things that makes San Simeon by the Sound such a special place is our volunteers. Our volunteers gain valuable experience while feeling fulfilled in the fact that each of them is doing their part to spread compassion in our community.
Sometimes referred to as Nursing Home Week, National Skilled Nursing Care Week is celebrated annually in May. This year, we celebrated with a staff luncheon filled with delicious food catered by Good Bickle Jamaican Cuisine & Juice Bar!

The San Simeon staff recently enjoyed a belated holiday party. Catered by a local favorite, The Catered Fork, our team took part in a delicious meal with coworkers and friends. We also held a holiday raffle!
January 9th was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. At San Simeon, our residents honored members of the Southold Police Department by writing cards of gratitude.
Many of our residents enjoy expressing themselves through art. The art expression program enables our residents to get creative while experiencing the therapeutic benefits art can provide. Last month, our residents selected their favorite watercolor paintings to be featured in the annual Alzheimer’s Disease Resource Center’s art exhibit.
