Sunday, May 1st COVID-19 Update

Dear Residents and Families,

Unfortunately, due to the recent resurgence of COVID-19 with this new variant, we have five residents who have tested positive for COVID-19. All are currently confined to the West Unit. We have taken appropriate steps to isolate these residents and have tested all residents as a precaution.

Additionally, we currently have two employees out with COVID.

We are not making any changes to our visitation policy at this time, however, we cannot stress enough how important mask wearing and social distancing are, especially while visiting loved ones at the facility. Likewise, if you are not feeling well or think you may have been exposed to someone with COVID, please refrain from visiting. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Friday, April 15th COVID-19 Update

Dear Residents and Family Members,

COVID-19 transmission rates in Suffolk County are on the rise again, with the seven day positivity average now at 4.6%. Fortunately, San Simeon has no new cases to report among residents or staff and we have been virus free since January. Despite the increases in positive cases in the community, there have been no changes to the requirements imposed on visitors at this time. You must still show proof of a negative COVID test within 24 hours of your visit, masks and social distancing are required, and if you are not feeling well, please do not visit.

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation.

We wish you a very Happy Easter and Passover.

Tuesday, February 22nd COVID-19 Update

Dear Residents and Family Members,

We are pleased to report no new cases of COVID-19 among either our residents or our staff members. While we have been COVID-free for several weeks now, we must still maintain masking, social distancing, and negative COVID-19 tests 24 hours prior to visitation until the Department of Health permits us to do otherwise.

Rather than provide testing to visitors on site, we are distributing home tests for you to use at your convenience, which you will then bring with you to the facility to validate your negative test result for visitation purposes. Please let us know if you have any problems with self-testing and we will provide assistance.
