Residents Participate in Walk to End Alzheimer’s

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, several residents as San Simeon staff members took part in the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s held at the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center, a part of the Cornell Cooperative Extension. It was a wonderfully uplifting day, and while some of the residents in wheel chairs could not complete the entire walk because much of it was on loose pebbles and wet ground, they still thoroughly enjoyed the experience and got a special treat.

Thanks to a farm attendant named Brad, the residents were able to get to meet some of the smaller farm residents, including a baby goat, some chickens, and a chubby rabbit.

A Truly Successful Walk

It should be noted that while San Simeon only played a small part, the Walk raised an incredible $173,378.41, well over the $150,000.00 goal that was set for the event! Congratulations to all who participated!
